it’s easier to operate a Dan Wesson than other double action revolvers. The left hand grasps the revolver, the left thumb pushes down on the latch to open the cylinder, the ejector rod is pushed to remove the empties, and then the right-hand places new cartridges in the cylinder.
CZ-USA, the parent company of Dan Wesson Arms, has decided to bring back the original Dan Wesson, a real sixgun. The new iteration is also a .357 Magnum, the Model 715. It is very nicely polished, whole revolver speaks of high quality.
The 45 caliber Smith & Wesson Schofield revolver was manufactured from 1875-1878. As a "top-break" revolver, the 1875 Schofield could be loaded much faster than other sidearms of the day. With practice, a shooter could refill all the chambers at once without looking, and do it in about 26 seconds. The vast majority of the Schofields sold went to the US Army, as replacements for the 1873 Colt.
